Most security cameras die the moment the power does, and most of them have to hang within reach of a plug. The Imou Cell 3C is the answer to both: it runs on a built-in 5000mAh rechargeable battery, and it accepts an Imou solar panel, so it can sit on a wall, a gate or a corner of the building with no wiring run to it at all. In a country where the mains comes and goes, that is the difference between a camera that is watching and a camera that is off.

What it sees

3MP resolution at 2304 × 1296, with the widest field of view of the three Imou cameras we stock — 95° across, 112° corner to corner — so one unit covers a yard or a driveway without you having to aim it perfectly. Infrared night vision reaches 15m. It detects motion, people and vehicles rather than alerting you every time a shadow moves, and 8× digital zoom lets you look closer at a recording.

It does not just watch

There is a microphone and a speaker built in, and red-and-blue warning lights. Someone in your yard at night sees the lights come on and hears a voice — which ends most of these situations before they start.

Storage and power

Recording goes to a microSD card of up to 512GB, which you supply — we stock a 128GB Imou card. The camera charges from a DC 5V 2A supply or an Imou solar panel, and is rated from −20°C to +50°C, so a Lebanese summer on an exposed wall is well inside what it is built for.

Which Imou camera should you buy?

• Imou Cell 3C (this one): the only one here that runs on its own 5000mAh battery and can take an Imou solar panel. 3MP, infrared night vision to 15m, and the widest view of the three at 95°. Pick it where there is no socket.
• Imou Cruise SC: mains powered, 5MP, and night vision to 30m with both warm light and infrared. The straightforward choice when power is available.
• Imou Cruiser Dual 2: two lenses at 5MP each, stitched into one view, plus Activity Zone and Crossing Line detection. For covering a wider area, or two directions at once.

Delivery and payment

Delivery is $4 inside Beirut and $5 everywhere else in Lebanon. Pay on delivery in cash, or by OMT or Whish. Every camera is genuine Imou and carries a warranty (period varies by model).
